Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties - Additional Learning Needs
Location - Cardiff
Pay rate - £407.25 per week (£81.45 per day)
Duration - Long-term (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3pm)
PE Direct are working with a special needs school for pupils with complex ESBD (Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties) to recruit a Teaching Assistants to work within their team to provide a positive learning experience for pupils aged between 11 and 18 years old.
The school actively promote wellbeing and advocate outdoor learning as a part of this. This has been successful in supporting the pupils in all aspects in line with their holistic approach to learning and wellbeing. The right person for this job will be comfortable in embracing and supporting the delivery of this.
As a Teaching Assistant, your role with include:
- Working within a small class to support pupils who have complex ESBD and additional learning needs.
- Supporting pupils in enhancing self-esteem and social interaction skills.
- Encouraging pupils to take pride in their achievements and celebrate them.
- Supporting pupils to management their behaviour, emotions, and frustration.
- Working closely as part of a team with other members of teaching staff.
It is essential for you to build a strong rapport with the pupils in the class and form a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. You will represent yourself as a positive role model to pupils, supporting them to appropriately manage their behaviour and emotions, by helping and guiding them to channel these in a healthy and calm manner. You will work as part of a team with other members of teaching staff to support and encourage pupils to respect and engage in clear boundaries and routine.
