The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, talented and motivated individual to teach Media and Graphics at Gower College Swansea. The role will also include the delivery of Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales.
  • Part time 0.7 (26 hours per week)
  • Fixed term (maternity cover)
  • £18,470 - £36,351 per annum
  • Primary location: Gorseinon Campus, Swansea
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and teach across a range of courses ensuring schemes/records of work, assignment schedules, are appropriate to the syllabus content and awarding body standards.
  • The teaching allocation includes GCSE Media for Foundation A Level, A Level Graphics, ASBW, and Level 2 Photography in our Llwyn y Bryn (uplands) campus.
  • Ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned as well as accessible to meet the varied needs of all learners, and that Welsh Government initiatives are embedded and assessed effectively.
  • Adopt and use digital tools/solutions for delivery and assessment on line in accordance with prescribed College endorsed platforms.
  • Assess and monitor learner progress, including the setting of targets, maintaining records of work and achievement in line with internal and external schedules/ criteria and college targets.
About You
  • Professional qualification or first degree in relevant area or equivalent
  • Teaching/Training qualification, or be prepared to work towards one
  • Ability to support and nurture diverse learning groups with the aim of meeting desired outcomes
