The Role
Casual Hours Welding Trainer
- Part time (6 hours per week)
- Fixed Term
- £19.08 - £20.35 per hour
- Tycoch Campus, Swansea
- Plan and deliver engaging welding lessons (MIG, TIG, MMA, fabrication basics, safety) that align with the college curriculum and meet awarding-body requirements.
- Assess learner progress through practical observations, skills assessments, and written tasks, providing constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
- Maintain a safe workshop environment, ensuring all equipment is used correctly, conducting risk assessments, and promoting best-practice health & safety procedures at all times.
- Industry experience in welding and fabrication, with strong competence in at least two core processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, MMA).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate adult learners and adapt teaching methods to varying skill levels.
- 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and the college is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period

- Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to a start date before 1st February).
