Dylan Thomas Community School is a happy and safe school where the needs of all pupils are catered for and taken into account. All staff play a key part in ensuring that this continues. In our February 2024 Inspection, Estyn stated that "Staff at Dylan Thomas Community School offer pupils a consistently high quality of Care, Support & Guidance. The school has an inclusive family feel and there are strong relationships between pupils and staff"
Governors are seeking to appoint someone with a welcoming personality and excellent interpersonal skills to be the first point of contact for visitors to the school.
Key responsibilities as the first point of contact at the school will be to ensure the smooth running of the school reception, greeting visitors, operating the switchboard and dealing with a wide range of enquiries from staff, parents, pupils and outside agencies.
Candidates will need a sound knowledge of Microsoft packages, in particular Word and Excel. Previous sims.net experience would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills to support the work of teachers, the learning of children and to actively promote the school through the provision of high quality multimedia resources.
Additionally as part of the school admin team you will be expected to undertake routine administrative skills such as filing, updating records, hospitality and providing support to the Senior Leadership Team.
This appointment is temporary to 31 August 2025 in the first instance with a view to becoming permanent.
