The Headteacher and Governing Body of Crwys Primary School wish to appoint a permanent Deputy Headteacher to start in September 2024.

OVERVIEW:
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Deputy Head Teacher to join our progressive and happy school. The right candidate for this deputy headship will have at least 5 years' experience teaching and leading a subject, key stage or year group, a proven track record, who can plan strategically, the ability to motivate and inspire a varied team of teachers in new strategies to improve teaching and learning over the whole school. The successful candidate must also be an excellent teaching practitioner and hold high expectations of what all pupils can achieve.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Support the Head in delivery of the school vision, for all learners
  • Lead the school in the absence of the Headteacher for assemblies and management decisions.
  • Be an enthusiastic, fun, inspirational, innovative leader with proven teaching and management skills;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Be committed to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement;
  • Be active in maintaining and developing the partnerships between pupils, parents, staff, governors and the wider community;
  • Support the ongoing development of this successful primary school;
  • Be committed to further development of pupil voice and extracurricular opportunities and sport.
  • Be an effective people manager who is committed to their own and their teams' development.
  • Work closely with AoLE Leads to enrich and improve curriculum planning across all subjects and year groups

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
  • Hold as a minimum, a B.ED or B.A & PGCE or equivalent & have at least 5 years' experience in teaching and leadership
  • Have a full understanding of processes involving children in care, child protection and safeguarding and be committed to working in partnership
  • Have excellent understanding of ALN - the school includes an STF. The DHT will be expected to be support the ALN team
  • Have a clear understanding of Safeguarding within schools
  • Have an innovative and creative approach
  • Be committed to high standards of teaching and learning and the professional development of staff
  • Have high expectations that motivate, support and challenge teachers and students alike.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be highly IT literate
  • Have confident understanding and communicating data in relation to pupils' progress
  • Have knowledge of school MIS
