How we help Further Education and Skills Professionals in Wales

The Education Training Foundation exists to support Further Education and Skills professionals across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and the Channel Islands. We provide training and development programmes to support you to provide transformative education to learners aged 14+.  We are the professional body and workforce development charity that works across all different provider types in the Further Education and Skills sector.

We offer:

Technical Teaching Fellowships: Advancing Technical Education (November deadline)

Our flagship programme for Welsh Technical Teachers is the Technical Teaching Fellowships. This prestigious programme is funded by the Royal 1851 Commission and the Welsh Government to support teachers to share their technical expertise at a national level.  If you are a teacher or trainer in an ESFA-funded provider in Wales and would like to work on a technical teaching project of your choice to share widely with other technical teachers, please apply to receive up to £15K of remission funding, a programme mentor, 2 Professional Development Days with Professors from the University of Sunderland's Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training and opportunities to speak across the UK.

This year's fellows include Welsh colleagues at NPTC Group and Pembrokeshire College pushing the boundaries of technical education in using AR, VR and 3D modelling and international practice in the field of automechanics and using skills development techniques from World Skills UK competitions to support the transition and success of technical learners with high needs into mainstream post-16 study settings.  Many of our fellows have achieved great career progression, going on to leadership and influencing roles and speak very warmly about their experience with the programme and the lifetime networks they built with colleagues.
