28.5 hours per week/39 weeks per year

Salary: Grade 3 SCP 3-5 (£16,502-£17,025) (pro rata). (subject to term time adjustment). The salary stated will be subject to a term time only adjustment for the commencement of employment outside of the start date of 1st September.

The Governing Body of St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Neath is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2, who is sympathetic to the Catholic Ethos of the school, to join our supportive and skilled team.

This role will involve supporting pupils within a Year 3/4 class, working closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support for learning. The successful candidate will assist individuals and small groups, including pupils with additional learning needs (ALN), helping them to engage fully with the curriculum and make good progress.

We are looking for someone who:-

- Has experience working with primary-aged children

- Is patient, supportive and able to build positive working relationships with pupils

- Has an understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning needs

- Can support learning across the curriculum, including literacy and numeracy

- Work effectively as part of a team and uses their own initiative
- Is flexible, proactive and committed to continuous improvement

- Encourages pupils to become independent and confident learners

- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

The successful candidate must be qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
