The Headteacher and Governors at Ponthir CiW School are looking for a dedicated, reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our warm and welcoming school community.Ponthir Church in Wales Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and nurturing environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. This is a key role within the school, supporting the day-to-day running of the site and ensuring our buildings and grounds are well cared for.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school premises daily
- Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and general DIY tasks
- Ensuring the school is clean, tidy and safe at all times
- Managing waste disposal and recycling
- Monitoring heating, lighting and security systems
- Supporting with deliveries, setting up rooms and school events
- Checking the site for health and safety risks and reporting issues promptly

- Takes pride in high standards of cleanliness and maintenance
- Has good practical skills and a can‑do attitude
