Sales Manager

Our successful business is seeking a Sales Manager who will drive the sales potential and presence of the business. The successful candidate will build, lead, and direct a motivated Employer Engagement Team to plan and accomplish goals in contract starts, employer placements and into employment targets. Typically reports to Head of Apprenticeships but will also be expected to work with the Senior Management Team on implementing strategic plans and operational goals.
Salary Banding: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Cardiff, Itec House
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours of work: - Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:30pm


What are the core responsibilities of this role?
• Accountable for the achievement of monthly performance profiles as agreed by the business across all Itec contracts.
• Monitoring the achievement of monthly KPIs, for your team regarding performance against contract specific KPI’s Including, forecasting, and monitoring income against agreed budget profiles.
• Accountable for the on-going development of an employer engagement strategy focusing on new business development.
• Keeping up to date with current employment trends, sector research and government funding trends.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with key employers, developing new business leads, identifying opportunities for effective promotion of all Itec Programmes.
• Build and manage a strong prospect pipeline: identifying, developing, and securing employer partnerships with substantial long-term potential.
• Engaging with SMT colleagues about overall strategic direction.
• Accountable for conducting Monthly performance review and annual appraisals
• Responsible for providing support to team members to ensure their continued development and effectiveness, including identification of any training required.
• Accountable for monitoring team members absences and holidays.
• Responsible for recruitment of departmental staff.


What skills and experience are we looking for from potential applicants?

Essential criteria

• Experience of the government funded landscape for pre- and post-employment funded programmes
• Demonstrable experience of working in a target focused environment
• Experience of leading and developing a team of Account Managers
• Knowledge of Welsh Government Contracts
• Safeguarding Knowledge and understanding




Desirable criteria

• Experience of the main Microsoft packages in a work environment
• CRM software experience and understanding
• Fluent in Welsh


This role is subject to a DBS check. The cost of the DBS check will be met by the company

The successful appointment will need to be self-registered with the Education Workforce Council as a Work-Based Learning Practitioner
